Our Naughty By Nature Microactors of the Half-Month
Hip Hop Hooraaaaay Hoooo for our Actionplatforms and Microactors from the week of July 19 through August 1.
PULL YOURSELF UP BY YOUR OWN BOOT! CAMP!>
If the Craigslist Foundation ran the world, they would work with IfWeRanTheWorld to turn Boot Camp good intentions into action.
In a couple of weeks, Craigslist Foundation’s ‘Boot Camp’ event will gather over 1,000 people who are passionately dedicated to strengthening their communities. Furthermore, IfWeRanTheWorld will be a featured participant at the event, and we’re damn excited about that. Looking forward to an orgy of good people, with good intentions, who are eager to microact and improve our world!
WEB SAVVY HELL’S ANGEL…A>
If Angela Palaisy ran the world, she would Google-Map Brantford Trails & Parks Informational Signage, and Create Google Map of the Bike Racks in Brantford
Angela has a total of 14 awesome microactions between these two actionplatforms. Thanks to her, the people of Brantford have a mapped out area of bike racks, which is available to view under her microaction entitled: create google map and populate with racks I know about. In addition, Angela created an online form for other biking enthusiast’s to locate and report bike rack’s in their area. This is also available on her mapping bike racks actionplatform, under the completed microaction: create an online form so that others can submit info for bike racks that they know about, but that aren’t already mapped. Like Guinness draft - brilliant!!
BRINGIN’ THUNDER DOWNUNDER, AND NOT ‘CAUSE IT’S WINTER>
If Tim Gregory ran the world, he would create a self-sustaining movement for community based programs, social and environmental initiatives in Waitakere through IWRTW
This platform is nothing new, but like a gentleman’s scotch, this actionplatform only improves with age. One of it’s newest features is a microaction that calls for Waitakere community members to write down what the ‘Waitakere Way’ means to them. So far, the comments are heartwarming and complimentary, and it makes one jealous of the fact that Cindy Gallop, Jason Liebrecht, and Oonie Chase get to spend almost two weeks there with the incredible people of Community Waitakere Charitable Trust.
MICROACTOR STUD OF THE WEEK>
If Joseph Robertson ran the world, he would Use TheHotSpring.net to build a better future, and elevate the voices of the voiceless
Joseph started TheHotSpring.net in order to gather people in a collaborative manner where they can discuss and share their thoughts on paradigm shifts in technology, science, and social theory. On this platform, he has 15 microactions, seven of which he’s completed. Joseph’s ‘elevate the voices of the voiceless’ actionplatform has 23 microactions, and it focuses on human rights, climate change, and generally kickass, good deeds.
SAN DIEGO’S FINEST, AND WE’RE NOT TALKING ABOUT COPS>
If Alison Whitney ran the world, she would Help my friend Nancy Armenta raise money and awareness for The Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program of San Diego County
Alison’s actionplatform has two recurring microactions on it, both of which are incredibly easy to complete. Her friend is trying to raise money for a suicide awareness walk in November, and all you have to do is post the link to her donation page on your Facebook or Twitter. The second is to email a letter, which was written by Nancy Armenta and describes her circumstances regarding this cause, to a few friends. Plus, these microactions are recurring, so many people can complete this!! It’s a great cause, and unfortunately an often overlooked one. So get off your buttocks and spread support and awareness via these simple microactions!
That’s all folks. And remember: never sneeze when you’re peeing, always say please and thank you, and only be inappropriate if you can go about it creatively. Any questions or comments, holler at me, I’m here to help.
